Fazoli’s Spaghetti with Meat Sauce Ingredients:

Its recipe card includes the following simple ingredients.

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium chopped Onion
  • 3 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes (canned)
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce (canned)
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp dried Oregano
  • 1 tbsp basil
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • Parmesan Cheese (serving)

Instructions:

Make Fazoli’s signature dish with these ingredients. I believe they are also not heavy on our pockets. It adheres to traditional cooking methods with few ingredients mostly we have in our kitchen cabinets.

  • Brown beef on a large skillet over medium heat until it is completely cooked. Your meat sauce’s base is ready. Drain the excess fat.
  • Now saute garlic, chopped onions in the same skillet so the leftover oil in it infuses flavors in them.
  • Stir crushed tomatoes and tomato paste on low flame for at least 20-30 mins.
  • Add salt, black pepper and red chilli flakes to taste.
  • Add oregano and let it simmer for at least 20-30 mins to let the flavor melts and the sauce thicken.
  • Cook spaghettis as per packet instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Once the sauce thickens,  spread over the cooked spaghetti.
  • Put the grated Parmesan sauce at the top of it.

The savory flavor is an outcome of browning meat and cooking in the tomato sauce and spices.
